Summer vacation is nearly upon us and if you are a college or graduate student chances are you are already making summer plans. Starting this summer you can now add the newly designed and invigorated Jewish Summer Fellowship (JSF) program to your list of possibilities on the horizon. The JSF is a five-week summer program that gives college and graduate students a chance to learn about their Jewish heritage while spending quality time with fellow students from around the globe and making memories that will last a lifetime.
Many students who have participated on a Birthright trip to Israel or in Chabad on campus are inspired to learn more about Judaism, but are unsure of how to go about it. The JSF was created to give these students an opportunity to learn more in a free and relaxed environment. JSF’s staff of top-notch education professionals, dynamic curriculum, renovated new dormitories, and beautiful grounds is the perfect setting for students to discover Jewish wisdom while having a blast. The JSF can aptly be described as an adventure for one’s mind, body, and soul. The superb academics are replete with stimulating, challenging classes and lively discussions. The in-depth Torah study is complemented by plenty of opportunities for athletic and social activities such as hiking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, barbeques, and trips to New York City. As an added bonus every JSF student is given a generous stipend for participating in the program.
But perhaps the greatest thing about the JSF is that it is a full 5-week cultural immersion experience. Jewish students from all walks of life come together to delve into the teachings and traditions that sustained their ancestors for over 4 millennia and connect with like-minded peers. No other program offers a comparable atmosphere. If you are a Jewish student curious to learn more about your heritage and are up for an unforgettable summer, the JSF has your name on it.
